Senate Votes 52 - 47, Delivers Another Massive Victory for President Donald Trump as Republicans Rejected a War Powers ...

Washington D.C. — In a strong show of support for President Donald J. Trump and American strength abroad, the U.S. Senate voted 52-47 to reject yet another Democrat attempt to strip the President of his constitutional authority to conduct military operations against Iran.

For the fourth time, radical Senate Democrats tried to force through a War Powers Resolution that would have required congressional approval before continuing U.S. action in the conflict. The measure failed along largely party lines, with only two Republicans — Sen. Rand Paul and one other — joining Democrats in support.

This decisive vote is a clear victory for President Trump’s America First foreign policy. It reaffirms that the Senate will not handcuff the Commander-in-Chief while he deals with a dangerous regime that has threatened American interests and allies for decades.

President Trump has been clear and consistent: Iran must never be allowed to develop nuclear weapons, fund terrorism, or attack U.S. forces and allies with impunity. The ongoing military pressure, including the blockade of Iranian ports, is designed to bring the regime to the negotiating table on American terms — not to engage in endless nation-building or unnecessary wars.
