Ilhan Omar, Dems Kicked Out of ICE HQ in Minneapolis — Look What They Tried Doing

Washington, D.C. — In a clear victory for law and order, Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) and fellow Democrats Reps. Angie Craig and Kelly Morrison were denied entry and promptly escorted out of the Bishop Henry Whipple Federal Building in Minneapolis on Saturday. The facility houses the regional ICE office and immigration court, and the unannounced visit by the lawmakers was swiftly rebuffed by security personnel enforcing strict protocols.

The trio claimed they were attempting “oversight” following a fatal ICE-involved shooting earlier in the week. However, officials emphasized that proper authorization is required for access to secure areas, especially at a time of heightened operational security.

Video footage showed security blocking the congresswomen from entering the ICE processing center. They were granted only a brief lobby walkthrough before being ordered to leave.

“I was just denied access to the ICE processing center at the Whipple Building,” Omar posted on X.

“Members of Congress have a legal right and constitutional responsibility to conduct oversight where people are being detained. The public deserves to know what is taking place in ICE facilities.”

Rep. Angie Craig later complained to local media, stating they were told the facility is funded by the Trump administration’s “One Big Beautiful Bill Act” rather than standard congressional appropriations, placing it under direct executive control.
